Canada is huge country demographically. Did you know that British Columbia alone is bigger than the United Kingdom and so it often makes it difficult for artists to meet and collaborate? The great thing is that social media opens up Canada for artists making it easy to meet.

One artist that struck my attention was Robin Jupiter. An artist based in Ontario. What really stuck me about him was that he was a “rock” guy but he plays the piano which is something relatively rare as a front man in this genre. He also understands the “hustle” and kept remind me about our interview — He has a drive that we can all learn from as artists. Robin’s music is also very original and I hope you all enjoy his style.

  1. How would you define your music?

I would define my music as progressive spiritual art rock with theatrical elements and out of all my favourite performances,

2. What has been your favorite performance?

I would say the one at Gage Park last year for Pride Hamilton on June 17 was my most sole contribution to humanity to date, and was the only important gig in my career leading up to that time. Because, like I said, I contributed to society in my own unique way for a special cause of embracing true self of human spirit.

3. Who are you inspired by

My inspirations include Toronto artist Sara Wilkinson, Hamilton artists Jennifer Budd and Ellevator featuring Nabi

And Basement Revolver, another Hamilton band plus Toronto artists Peter Van Helvoort and Brennan Finlay

Earlier influences include the Beatles, the Beach Boys, ABBA, the Who, Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, CCR, the Doors and the Ramones

Other rock bands of that period

4. Do you have any shows coming up?

Upcoming shows include one in St. Catharines on March 23, one in Hamilton for a mental health organization called Tree of Stars on March 24, another Hamilton show on April 3rd at Mulberry Street Coffeehouse and one or two or more of them in the works in Toront

5. Where can everyone find you online?
