Hope that your understanding of scales has improved …. we’re now on to melodic minors

They’re similar to harmonic minors because they still have the raised 7th going up but they also raise the 6th but what makes them really neat is going down they lower both the 6th and 7th

So what’s the Tones and Semi-tones?

Going up: T ST T T T T ST

Going Down: T T ST  T T ST T

The changes make it a bit harder to memorize but if you do, you can figure out any melodic minor. Challenge yourself to figure out all of them.

Start with the white keys and then once you’re secure in them, move on to the black keys!
