Always admire a band that has the drive to get out there and hustle. Recently, I came across a band called “Honest Honesty,” with a unique theatrical rock feel. Hailing from Montreal, QC, they are a rock band composed by female vocalist Roxanne Paris (love that name), drummer Yuri B. Beaulieu, bassist Alex Canuel and guitarist Sebastien Marois. They are all passionate musicians and what I really admired is Roxanne’s drive to make sure that this interview happened. I hope you enjoy it too!

1. Your sound has a very theatrical feel? What are your influences?

We were all influenced by great rock music from the 70’s to today.
Our inspiration comes from a lot of our favorite bands that goes from Green Day, Billy Talent, Three Days Grace, Sum 41, Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots and even AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.

2. How long have you guys been playing together? What’s your “origin” story?

We started the band in early 2018 and played our first local shows later that year. Our current guitar player has joined us in late 2019 and we’re now working on a lot of great new material to be released later this year. The band has taken it to another level.
We are all passionate musicians who have found each other online.

3. Tell us about your writing process? What are your inspirations?

It’s different all the time, sometimes it starts from a riff, sometimes from lyrics.
We work on music individually during the week and put it together at rehearsal.
We do what we love and what makes us fell right.

4. When is your next show?

Our first shows with our new line-up will be
March 13 in Ste-Therese, QC (Montecristo)
April 3 in Toronto, ON (Duffy’s Tavern)

5. Where can we find you online?

You can find everything on our website: www.honesthonesty.com
