Release on January 30, 2018: ‘Let’s Hear It 2018 Juno Host Committee’ #BrokenGlass

If 2017 taught the world anything – it is that 2018 is a time to celebrate diversity by smashing the glass ceilings in our music industry. A grassroots structure has emerged creating a proliferous faction to reflect our constant ever changing terrain of Canadian music, sending an updated message: today is a time for inclusivity.

A night of unique intersectional local artists, such as, the genre smashing talents of Laydy Jams, the soul
driving sound of FRANKIIE, intoxicating sound of Kristi Lane Sinclair,to the devastatingly beautiful sound
of Douse, to the vulnerable gracefulness of Kristen Ludwig, and finally closing with the passion of Anya. All hosted by two Mama Lionesses, Chelsea D.E. Johnson and Lola Lush, local veterans of the East Van
Music Scene.

Rose Water Poet performer, arts and social justice educator, Amal Rana will weave together a
community narrative across cultures in a keynote speech about ‘Intersectional Feminism.’
Reconnecting the intersects within the music industry in a free day time workshop series for emerging
artists to veterans. Panel discussions to empower and educate: how to maximize their music revenues,
diversity in production, and as well how to create change with Intersectional Practices. All support with
a solid diverse technical team.
